Slovenia's slow area

SLOVENIA’S SLOW AREA, FROM THE GORENJSKA T O THE GORIŠKA REGION

The Slovenian territory involved in the project is characterised by several slow excellences, such as the Triglav National Park, the only national park in Slovenia and one of the oldest in the alpine area. The Triglav National Park boasts clear waters, deep gorges, remains of virgin forest, a rich biodiversity, as well as a wide variety of mountain flowers, including many endemic species, and is visited by various itineraries that highlight its features, such as the gorges of Tolmin, the plateau of Pokljuka, Lake Bohinj, the Savica Waterfall and Lake Bled. Numerous villages and small towns satisfied visitors with their rich cultural heritage: Kranj, Radovljica and its surroundings, Škofja Loka and its castles between history and legend.
